Video Transcript
Welcome to Comestri. To begin, we will sign into the Comestri application.
Channels are how Comestri interacts with external platforms, e.g. Channels can support functions like export/import of product data.
(N.B. Click the above link to learn more about Comestri Channels.)
In this video, you’ll be creating a new Comestri Shopify Channel, but the creation process is the same for all Comestri Channels.
Let’s start by clicking Channels on the main menu. You then click New Channel on the expanded menu.
You’ll start by naming the Channel. Here, you’ll name it ‘Sample Apparel – Shopify’, as this is a Comestri Shopify Channel.
Next, you’ll select the Type of Channel to create from the Type drop-down list. Here, you’ll select Shopify v2.
Next, you can select a Data Set you have defined in the Comestri PIM.
Data Sets let you set up access control in Comestri. This setup limits user or Comestri Channel access to aspects of Comestri.
So, if you select a Data Set, Comestri will limit selectable values for Languages, Catalog, Category Set and Pricebooks.
In this example you’ll select ‘No data set’.
Select a Language(s) for this Channel. (N.B. Some Channels only support one Language, while others support multiple Languages.)
Next, you’ll select ‘All products’ for Catalog.
(N.B. It’s often better to set a Catalog in the Channel Product Filter. Click the above link to learn more about Catalogs.)
Select a Category Set, which will be used for Category Mapping in this Channel.
(N.B. Some Channels only support one Category Set, while others support multiple Category Sets.)
Here, you’ll select Sample Apparel AU. (N.B. Click the above link to learn more about Category Sets.)
Select one or more Pricebooks from the drop-down list. Here, you’ll select AU Normal and AU Sale.
(N.B. Pricebooks must already exist in your Comestri PIM. Click the above link to learn more about Pricebooks.)
Lastly, click Create Channel, which takes you to the Configuration page where you can start the Channel configuration process.
On the Configuration page on the left, you’ll see the Configuration menu. Across the top you’ll see tabs for more Channel elements.
For a brief explanation of these Channel elements, click the above link to the Comestri Channel Overview video.
