Welcome to Comestri. To begin, let’s sign in to the Comestri application.

Shared References allow you to encapsulate related pieces of information into a single digital “block” or “unit”. You can then freely re-use Shared References by attaching them to as many different products as you like.

Let’s start by creating a new Type of Shared Reference. Click Shared Reference Types under Product Configurations on the main menu. Then click the New Shared Reference Type button.

Enter the Name for your Shared Reference Type, e.g. Ingredient. If you want to include Media, Price and/or Category with your Shared Reference, select the checkbox(es) for the relevant Data to include. Select Attributes to include from the drop-down list. In this example, we’ll select Colour and Description as Attributes for our new Shared Reference Type. When you have finished, click Save.

You can click the ellipsis and select Edit or Delete at any time.

Next, let’s create your first Shared Reference of the Ingredient type, e.g. Hyaluronic Acid. Click Products and then click Manage Shared Reference Types on the main menu.

Click New Shared Reference button. Select Ingredient as the Type and name it Hyaluronic Acid. The Code will be self-generated. You also have the option to select a Product Family. When you have finished, click Save.

On Save, you’ll be taken to the Edit Shared Reference screen. Here you can add Colour and Description to Hyaluronic Acid. When you have finished, click Update Shared Reference.

Click the Media tab, where you can add an Image and/or a Video.

Click the New Image button. You can then add the URL for the image and click Save.

A thumbnail of your newly added image will appear in the Images section. Click the Update Shared Reference button.

Click New Shared Reference to create another one. Set the Type as Ingredient, which we created earlier, and name it Rose Hip Oil. When you have finished, click Save.

On Save, you’ll be taken to the Edit Shared Reference screen. Here you can add Colour and Description to Rosehip Oil. When you have finished, click Update Shared Reference.

Click the Media tab, where you can add an Image and/or a Video.

Here, you’ll click the New Image button. You can then add the URL for the image and click Save.

A thumbnail of your newly added image will appear in the Images section. Click the Update Shared Reference button.

Click Manage Shared References under Products on the expanded menu.

You can click the ellipsis and select the Edit or Delete option at any time.

Your next step is to create a special type of Attribute that will allow us to associate a Shared Reference with a Product.

Click Product Configurations on the main menu. Then click Attributes on the expanded menu.

Click the New Attribute button. Enter ‘Key Ingredients’ into the Name field.

Select the Base type as Shared Reference (Multi Option). This means that when you’re selecting values for this Attribute on a product, you can select multiple values.

Select Ingredient for the Allowed Shared Reference Types. Next, click Create Attribute.

Click on Attributes in the expanded menu. You can see that the Key Ingredients Attribute is now listed.

Next, we need to add this Attribute to a Class. Click on Classes in the expanded menu.

Click the New Product Class button to create a new Class.

Name the new Class Test SKU.

Next, add your Attribute to this Class by selecting Key Ingredients from the Attributes to Include drop-down list.

Click Save.

You can see that the Test SKU class is now listed.

Click Products on the main menu. Then click Manage Products on the expanded menu.

Next, you’ll create a New Product that will belong to the Test SKU Class. Click the New button and select New Product.

In the Enter Product Details form, enter Rainsoft Hydrating Cream in the Product Name field. Set its Status to Active and click Create Product.

This will take you to the Edit Product screen.

Click the Attributes tab. The Key Ingredients Attribute is now added to your Product.

Next, select Hyaluronic Acid and Rosehip Oil as values for the Attribute Key Ingredients. When you have finished, click the Update Product button.

Now, if you click on Manage Shared References under Products on the main menu, you can see that Hyaluronic Acid and Rosehip Oil are now associated with one Product. Clicking on the Number of Associated Products takes you to the Manage Products screen, which lists the Products associated with your Shared References.

You have now successfully associated two Shared References with a Product.
